Nakilat joined in the Qatar National Day festivities and celebrated with its employees by organizing an internal event at its head office on 13 December 2018. In line with this year’s National Day theme, ‘Qatar Will Remain Free’, Nakilat honored this significant occasion by showcasing the country’s culture and customs to promote loyalty, solidarity, unity and pride in the national identity of Qatar.

Nakilat has been awarded the ‘Sword of Honour’ by British Safety Council, for organisations that have reached the pinnacle of excellence in managing the company’s health, safety and environmental risks. The ceremonial sword was received at a ceremony held recently in London.

Nakilat has collaborated with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment to organize an initiative with two local schools. The initiative is aimed at raising awareness for the importance of environment protection and preservation amongst the students from an early age.

Qatar hosted professional members of the Society of International Gas Tanker and Terminal Operators (SIGTTO) for their Board and Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 28 November 2018, with Nakilat proudly sponsoring the session in Doha.

Nakilat has won the ‘Green Corporate Award’ at Qatar Sustainability Awards 2018 held in Doha recently. Organized by Qatar Green Building Council for the third consecutive year, the awards aim to recognise the efforts, commitment, and achievements of individuals, institutions, and organizations in furthering sustainable development and environmental protection in Qatar and internationally.

Nakilat recently participated in the Qatar Shipping Forum 2018 held at Marriott Doha hotel, which gathered local shipping and maritime professionals. This is the first such forum to be organized in Qatar by DNV GL, one of the world’s leading providers of marine classification services, marine risk management and licensing. The event provided a great platform for discussions on the latest trends and challenges facing the global maritime industry.
